My 3 friends all wanted to hang out and get food so I waited an hour to go get food and then they bailed after saying they would go. So I’m eating alone tonight anyway.
On the plus side I finished my social work class 11 days early by turning in my final paper today instead of on the 13th. I wanted to reward myself by hanging out but I guess solo five guys will work too.
I’m just lonely, sad and disappointed.

We’ve all been there at one point or another. Have been waiting for this girl who said she would let me know about hanging out this weekend to text me . Sunday at 6pm? Not looking great lol.

You just described 90% percent of all short-lived friendships .
Don’t worry. When you’re my age, you’ll learn the truth to life-long friendships.

Don't let it faze you, Captain. Besides, five guys sounds delicious. Get some Cajun fries and a shake, go home and watch something that will make you laugh your ass off!

Just enjoy the peace and quiet and your meal.
People can be arses sometimes, they can’t help it, don’t let it get to you mate.

ikr, I’d appreciate it if people would just tell me to fuck off than ignore me.

So this might seem like I’m talking about myself, but I only know you so well (not that much) and I can only comment so much on your situation, but I can reflect on mine and hope that you can gain something from it.
I feel like my friends bail on me all the time. Truthfully, it happens pretty often and it’s one of my biggest annoyances, particularly if it’s for an event that I’ve been planning for a while. I used to end up canceling my plans if nobody showed and then I’d end up sitting around by myself and not doing anything or sitting around thinking about all the stuff I wish I’d done instead - probably the worst alternative and certainly terrible for morale.
In the past few months, I’ve felt a
need to be independent. I’ve decided that I’m not going to let anyone else dictate what I do/do not do based on whether or not they bail. So I’ve been planning all the stuff I’d like to do but when someone bails, I do it anyway or I’ll find something that I’d have rather done by myself. And I’ve gotta say, I’ve made it to some pretty enjoyable things that I’d have otherwise missed out on. Not only do I have those experiences now, but sometimes it results in meeting other people that can hopefully become good (non-bailing) friends.
So maybe next time you are marooned, pull something off your list of to-dos? Go for a hike, a run or bike ride, maybe hit the gym or see a movie. Check out some seasonal or flea markets, drop into a swapmeet, find a club or meetup that interests you. Meeting people and making friends is something I struggle with, but making a constant effort I’m optimistic that I can change it.
Hopefully you got something out of this. (=

Thank you for your response. I think that would be better for me. I’m working with my therapist on finding more things for me to do and making new friends. It’s very hard for me but I think it’s important for my well being.
